Australian cricket team arrive in Jaipur
Jaipur (PTI): The Australian cricket team, led by Ricky Ponting, arrived here on Monday to play a two-day practice match against Rajasthan Cricket Association's Centre of Excellence team, prior to the four-Test series commencing at Bangalore on October 9.
The 15-member squad, which was received by RCA officials at Sanganer airport, was immediately taken to the team hotel amidst tight security.
The visitors, accompanied by former India coach Greg Chappell, are scheduled to hold practice sessions for three days before the warm up game, starting on September 27.
The cricketers would leave for Hyderabad on September 29, where they will play a four-day practice match against TBC.
"We have arranged all facilities for the visiting team. Wickets are of different nature, including variable bounce and spinning tracks, have been prepared for them," Bimal Soni, deputy president of RCA said.
Australian squad: Ricky Ponting(c), Doug Bollinger, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin, Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Phil Jaques, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Simon Katich, Jason Krejza, Bryce McGain, Peter Siddle and Shane Watson.
