    President congratulates Women's cricket team

New Delhi (PTI): President Pratibha Patil on Sunday congratulated the Indian women cricket team and their skipper Mithali Raj for winning the Women's Cricket Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

The president was elated at the team's top performance in the championship for the fourth consecutive year, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.

India today clinched their fourth successive women's cricket Asia Cup title by thrashing Sri Lanka by a massive 117 runs in the final at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala.

This was also the fourth successive time that the two nations clashed in the finals of the Championship.
