India opts to bat against Bangladesh in first test
Chittagong, May 18 (AP): Indian captain Rahul Dravid won the toss Friday and decided to bat first against Bangladesh in the first test of a two-match series.
India left out Yuvraj Singh, Munaf Patel, V. V. S. Laxman and Rajesh Pawar from its 15-member squad, while illness-plagued Bangladesh rested Tushar Imran, Syed Rasel and Mehrab Hossain.
Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib al Hasan and Indian spinner Romesh Powar made their test debuts in Friday's match at the Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium in the southeastern city of Chittagong.
