    Sensex slips after opening higher

    Mumbai (IANS): A key index of the Indian equities market slipped after rising about 122 points from opening bell Tuesday.

    Within 15 minutes of the opening bell, the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened higher at 14,830.97 points, was ruling at 14,801.24 points, only 15.5 points or 0.1 percent above Monday's close.

    The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also marginally up, rising 0.05 percent to rule at 4,393 points around the same time.

    However, broader market indices were doing a tad better, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.52 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index moving up 0.77 percent.
