No irregularity in plot allotment: Mulayam
Lucknow (PTI): Coming in defence of party leader Amar Singh against whom Mayawati government had instituted an inquiry in connection with a plot allotment, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said there was nothing irregular in it.
"The plot was given to Singh in Gomti Nagar when he was in Congress on the recommendation of BSP leader Kanshiram through direct allotment," Yadav said.
There were over 14,000 beneficiaries of direct allotments by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) including BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra, cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh, Principal Secretary (Home) Kunwar Fateh Bahadur and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Netram.
Yadav alleged that the IAS officer, who headed the inquiry in the matter was termed fraud by High Court, and he could not conduct the inquiry in an impartial manner.
Yadav also distributed the list of beneficiaries, who were given plots through direct allotment including judges,
journalists, politicians, bureaucrats and VIPs and said that inquiry was instituted against Singh as an act of political vendetta.
Yadav handed over a release which said that as reported in some newspapers, Singh was never alloted plot under EWS (Economically Weaker section) category.
Singh was alloted E-5/845 in Vikas Khand, Gomti Nagar and the property was sold through special camps by LDA. As the plot was not up to his requirement, he requested LDA to give him another 400 square yards plot in lieu of the earlier one.
Later a bigger plot was alloted to Singh through direct allotment on a fresh request, he said.
