Advani honours BJP youth campaign team
New Delhi (PTI): There is a need for positive, die-hard attitude and commitment in those interested in entering politics and bringing about a change in society, BJP's prime ministerial leader L K Advani told his team of youngsters who ran the party campaign from its war-room.
Mr. Advani hosted a small party for the youth who had worked as backroom boys and girls for the BJP election campaign. The team made a valuable contribution in designing the party website and providing other IT support to the party.
"The country has been suffering from a negative, defeatist attitude which has to change. In the Mahabharata, Karna lost as he was told he could not win. Similarly, when we started the National Quadrilateral project people said it would not succeed. Now they are saying the same about bringing Indian black money stashed in Swiss banks," Mr. Advani said.
Those who wished to join politics should have a commitment towards it and not treat it as a profession, he added.
The team had a interesting mix of youngsters from IIMs, IITs, NRIs, senior students of JNU and even professionals.
The team worked under the tutelage of Mr. Advani's close associate Sudheendhra Kulkarni. "It was a great and committed team of youngsters," he said at the programme.
