  • Hillary to arrive in Mumbai today

Mumbai (PTI): On her maiden visit to India as America's Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will arrive here on Friday.

After her arrival late Friday, Ms. Clinton would spend the night at south Mumbai's Taj Hotel which witnessed the multi-terror attacks on November 26 last year.

This is the first visit by a U.S. Secretary of State to Mumbai in nine years, the last being by Madeleine Albright in 2000.

Ms. Clinton has a packed schedule on Saturday, which includes a meeting with Indian business leaders and visit to a centre of the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA). She will also pay tributes to the martyrs of the 26/11 attacks.

Ms. Clinton is on an official visit to India and Thailand from June 17 to 23. She is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during her stay in New Delhi.
