Some are genetically blessed, while some have to struggle for a perfect body through their fitness regimes. But then there are others who don’t miss out on either of the two sides of the fitness band. And Shruti Seth is one of them.
The Shararat star Shruti who played Jia and can now be seen in Suite Life of Karan and Kabir , has always been inclined towards fitness.
“When I was in college or around 15 years old, I always wanted to make sure that I learn a new sport, a new kind of fitness mantra”, says Shruti. The vivacious actor has danced her way through, long time back with choreographer Shiamak Davar.
“He has taught me about the human anatomy. I have understood posture and how to use the right muscles, all because of my training as a dancer”, reveals the actor.
“I have to give myself the rest and workout that I need. So these are habits that I started with at a very young age and they have stayed as a part of my routine. I haven’t developed them suddenly”, she says, laying emphasis on understanding and listening to one’s body.
Though she is extremely grateful to her parents for the genes, Shruti isn’t resting on her inheritance. “I make it a point to exercise four times a week no matter how hectic my work schedule is. I also make sure I eat well, and on time”, says Shruti, who has been a physical instructor and practiced yoga. She believes time management is the key. “For the kind of work that I do, my body is my strongest instrument, and I can’t afford to take it for granted”, states Shruti.
Being free from the sin of gluttony, Shruti enjoys health foods like salads. “I haven’t done it with the intention of being healthy or looking great, but I have developed the taste for such kind of food from childhood. And luckily for me my interest has a really good by-product and has kept me looking a certain way”, she comments.
“In the longer run, the work will come and go but my body will stay. What you give to your body, it’ll give back to you”, believes Shruti.
