Andrew Throdahl shares his expertise at a workshop that's open to all

A workshop on Casio keyboard will be conducted by Andrew Throdahl as part of The Hindu Friday Review Music Festival at 11 a.m., on November 21, at Kasturi Srinivasan Hall, The Music Academy.
The workshop will cover the history of the piano from its beginnings as a harpsichord to its recent evolution as an electronic keyboard.
Two students will play compositions by Bach and Beethoven. Throdahl studied music at Middlebury College, where he graduated magna cum laude and studied with concert pianist Diana Fanning.

He was the winner of the Middlebury Concerto Competition in 2006 for his performance of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto no. 1, and the Middlebury Chamber Music competition in 2007 and 2008 for performances of Shostakovich and Dvorak Trios. In 2002 and 2004, he attended the Amalfi Coast Music Festival, where he conducted master-classes with esteemed pianists Paul Badura-Skoda and Luis de Moura Castro.
He also received second place at the Audrey Thayer Piano Competition in 2004. Andrew's repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music.
