The annual humour fest is back in Bangalore

A ntharanga, an amateur theatre group, is organising a humour festival in memory of the renowned poet, writer — Varakavi Dr. Da. Ra. Bendre and popular film artiste Balakrishna. The festival, titled Haasya Mela, will be held on November 21 in the evening and on November 22 (whole day) at H.N. Kalakshetra, National College, Jayanagar, Bangalore
The portraits of Balakrishna and Bendre will be unveiled by Manu Baligar, Director, Kannada and Culture and Prof. Gururaj Kharjagi, respectively. Dr. Master Hirannaiah and M.S. Narasimha Murthy will be honoured on this occasion.
Film and popular theatre artistes like S. Shadakshari, Yashavanth Saradeshpande, Richards Louis, Ramesh Babu, N. Ramanath and others will also participate in the event.
Besides this Ranga Sourabha, from Vijaya College, will stage the play “Gangavatharana”, directed by Rajendra Karanth. Gana Vinodini will present humorous skits.
