Workshop

A music and dance workshop. Also, check out a new CD set

A workshop in both music and dance in the compositions of Veena Seshanna will be held at the Ananya Sabhangana, Malleshwaram, Bangalore. This workshop from November 20 to November 27 will be under the aegis of Swaramurthy V.N. Rao Memorial Trust and SCZ Cultural Centre.

The workshop will be conducted by the veteran musician R.K. Srikantan between 4.30 and 6.30 p.m. everyday. Adyar Lakshman will direct the dance workshop from December 1 to 7 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. This will be held in collaboration with Nadam and Ananya.

Shrikaanta Kruti Saurabha is a set of two audio CDs containing Carnatic compositions of Shrikaanth K. Murthy. Shrikaanth's compositions are in various languages, ragas and talas. CD-1 has been rendered by renowned vocalist T.S. Satyavathy and her disciples. It offers a selection of nine songs in a combination of common and rare ragas. “Minakshi” in Anandabhairavi has been sung elaborately by Satyavathy.

CD-2 has been rendered by acclaimed vocalist Sukanya Prabhakar. This features a varna in Hemavati and other songs in popular Ragas. The two-cd set costs Rs.150 .
