The concluding phase of the three part centenary celebrations, dedicated to the late music legend, GNB, organised by Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha will take place on August 1 at Vani Mahal. Trichur V. Ramachandran’s vocal concert with M.Chandrasekaran (violin), Mannargudi A. Easwaran (mridangam) and T.V.Vasan (mridangam) will take place at 6.30 p.m.
Oonjal utsavam
ISKCON’s Oonjal Utsavam will be conducted from August 1 to 5 at Hare Krishna Land, Bhaktivedanta Swami Road, off ECR, near VGP, Sholinganallur. On week days, the timings for the programmes will be between 7 p.m. and 7.45 p.m. On Sunday, (10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.), the programme will begin with bhajans, followed by a Bhagavad Gita lecture in English with Tamil translation. Oonjal utsavam will follow. ISKCON will also conduct Balaram Purnima on August 5, 7 p.m.- 7.30 p.m. at the venue mentioned above. This purnima coincides with the rakhi celebration. Raghavendra mahotsavam
Sri Gururaja Seva Samithi will celebrate their 27th anniversary and Sri Raghavendra Swamigal mahotsavam between August 5 and 9, at Ayodhya Aswamedha Maha Mantapam. Sri Satyanarayana puja, Sri Srinivasa Tiirukalyanam, Kamyartha homams and abhishekam will be performed during the period. Music concerts of eminent artists will take place in the evenings.
