Anniversary fete
As part for its 109th year celebrations, Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha has organised two Bharatanatyam ballets. On July 5, 6.45 p.m. Urmila Satyanarayana will present a recital titled ‘Rama Rasanubhavam.’ On July 6, 6.45 p.m., Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala and students will stage ‘Utchi Tilakam’. Narada Gana Sabha is the venue.
Workshop on GNB music
As part of Global GNB Birth Centenary Celebrations 2010, Prof. T. R. Subramanian will conduct a workshop on GNB’s music from Aug 1-Sept 30, 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at Narada Gana Sabha. For details, contact Narada Gana Sabha authorities between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Bhajan competition
Bhaktha Swaraa Bhajan Mandali, Nungambakkam, will conduct an inter-school bhajan competition on July 18 (prelims)and July 26 (semi-finals and finals) at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore. Interested schools (maximum 12 students) can contact 98843 32242 or 98416 67059. Entry closes on July 5.
