One more reality!
The trend of milking children’s vocal chords for TRPs continues. After “Little Champs” on Zee and “Chhote Ustad” on Star Plus, it’s time for 9X to join the jostle. The channel has roped in Gajendra Singh, who is producing “Chhote Ustad” to make “Chak De Bachche”, a bi-weekly show that will put the spotlight on the talent in the 8 to 14 age group. Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari and Roshni Chopra will host the show. How is it different from the rest? Well, here the kids will dance as well.
Script to glory
In India, every person loves to listen, see, and tell stories. However, when it comes to films, there is a serious lack of good and original writing talent. We do have the likes of Anurag Kashyap and Jaideep Sahani, but they are not enough to fulfil the needs of a growing industry Now through a national story hunt, Mirchi Movies is inviting story ideas from across the country. The top three selected by a panel of distinguished judges will be converted into feature films and will receive a case prize of Rs.10 lakh, 5 lakh and 3 lakh respectively. To participate visit mirchimovies.com.
Be a superstar
Want to dance like Madhuri in “Ek, Do, Teen” or like Hrithik in “Dhoom”? ibibo.com, a social networking website, and MTV have come together to give you a chance to outdo the Bollywood stars at what they do best — dance. Called “i.Superstar”, it is a dance reality show involving ordinary people. The search is for a dancer who can capture the hearts of millions with the unique combination of dancing along with the entertainment quotient.
ibibo and MTV will give the 18 selected contestants a taste of the superstar’s real life, from five-star hotels and esteemed fashion designers to luxury cars. The entire makeover, grooming training and the final video will be aired on MTV. To be hosted by veejay Sophie, the reality show will start with ground auditions in Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai.
Save tiger
After a recent Government of India survey pointed out that India’s tiger population has been reduced to half in the last six years, NDTV has launched its ‘Save the Tiger’ campaign. The campaign aims to provide a platform for the public to voice their support and pressurise the Centre and the State government to take stringent steps towards saving the vanishing tiger. The campaign includes an ‘India signs on to save the tiger’ gathering on March 9 in every state. This is apart from the ongoing sign up campaign over the Internet and mobile platforms.
