We love this website for women travellers. From cyber girl guides, a section where women travellers write in with their experiences and travel tips, to specific sections like those for women travelling with children or those travelling solo, this is one useful bunch of info. For some cities like Hong Kong, the site has collaborated with the local tourism board to put together tips ranging from what to wear to where you can rent a baby-sitter to where you can get free wi-fi. Whether you are looking to go hiking in Nepal or dying to learn the tango in Buenos Aires, the site has a story to help. Check it out at >www.journeywoman.com
Adopting help
If you want to adopt or are the parent of an adopted child, here is an organisation that can help. SuDatta, or Adoptive Parents Association, brings adoptive families closer together and supports intending adoptive parents. Started by three couples (adoptive parents) who were struggling with the whole “how to tell our children” question, SuDatta has evolved into a unit that will hold your hand if you want to adopt, advise you on how best to break the news to your child, or tell you how to bond with the children. According to the APA, most parents don’t share the joys of adoptive parenting till until the child has reached teenage, and then only do so when there are issues related to behaviour or education.
