His Cavemen’s diet has bore fruit. Actor Harshavardhan Rane looks fit and leaner. Currently shooting for Sanam Teri Kasam under the direction of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Harshvardhan says he never felt this good before. The actor who made his debut Telugu movies says he didn’t realise how much weight he could lose until he began his special diet and accompanied it with his regular workout. “I am a big structured guy and so, I always felt my weight was justified until I chanced upon Cavemen’s diet,” he says.

So, what is Cavemen’s diet? “Simply put, Cavemen’s diet is a diet plan which suggest food eaten by the cavemen. Cavemen ate what was available — like meat, vegetables and a few nuts. What we grow for food is carbohydrates and that leads to weight gain. I started this diet a few years ago and ever since I haven’t had carbs at all. I load on proteins, veggies, fruits and nuts and never took support of supplements,” explains Harsh who looks much leaner then how movie watchers saw him in Ravi Babu’s Avunu and Avunu 2 .

“Weight loss has been significant and the energy levels are high. It keeps me motivated and my mind sharp. I have lost close to 20 kilos and it has kind of helped prepare my character for Sanam Teri Kasam ,” he adds. The movie slated for January release next year will be released by Eros International. Produced by Deepak Mukut the movie also stars Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in the lead.

Bagging the role was a surprise, says Harsh. “I’ve been in Mumbai from the first time I got a call. I couldn’t have asked for a better role than this one.”

Since it is a musical loves story there are a lot of speculations on how the movie is going to be. Many are making guesses and trying to compare the theme with other musical love stories, but Harsh says he chooses to remain silent. After a month of shooting in South Africa, the team is back again in the country and shooting for the final leg of the movie. Harsh’s another Hindi movie, Satrah ko shadi is also slated for a next year release.
