Watch

Paint mixing

This is infinitely more satisfying than watching paint dry — ask the two British Board of Film Classification officials who had to sit through a 10-hour-long movie about and called Paint Drying . Artists are uploading videos of paint being mixed, and it’s the perfectly calming thing to watch. Some people report experiencing ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response), which is usually a physical sensation like tingling, which happens when watching something immensely satisfying.

Here be Dragons – Mohit Uppal

Ayaan Kehal is all of us when he talks about quitting his job and running away from his troubles to an indefinite vacation in Rome. Except, he can actually do it, since he is a fictional character. The story follows him and two of his buddies — it is quite a lad story — in a tale of intrigue, suspense and well-woven humour. The debut author has done a good job in terms of keeping readers hooked from beginning to end.

Listen

Laura Bretan

When the 13-year-old singer, dressed in a simple striped T-shirt with her hair in a braid, steps onto the America’s Got Talent stage for her audition, it seems like there’s nothing too special about her. But when she starts singing, she blows your mind. Out of this little girl comes ‘Nessun Dorma’, from the opera Turandot. While Mel B gave her the Golden Buzzer, which sends her straight through to the live shows, the opera community has been critical of Laura’s singing and training. So if you love her singing, check out some classic opera pieces as well.

Do

Bullet Journal

I’m hardly a Type A personality. But with life getting busier, to-do lists and Google Keep sometimes just aren’t enough. Enter Ryder Carroll’s Bullet Journal method. Developed by him over many years, it is a one-of-a-kind “analogue system for the digital age”. All you need is a blank notebook, a pen, and a few minutes to figure out how it works. It’s a simple method to “track the past, organise the present and prepare for the future”.
