‘Kun Faya Kun’ (Berklee Indian Ensemble cover)

“Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand,” said Stevie Wonder. The Berklee Indian Ensemble demonstrates this perfectly in their latest cover of Rahman’s ‘Kun Faya Kun’. It’s quite moving to watch singers from all cultures render the song with feeling; at several points in the nearly 12-minute-long video, the audience breaks into applause in appreciation of the impeccable vocals and hauntingly beautiful instrumentals.

‘Me Too’ – Meghan Trainor

Channel your inner pop star and sing along with this fun number: it debuted at number 39 on the Billboard charts this week. While the 22-year-old Meghan Trainor came onto the scene with her doo-wop style in ‘All About The Bass’, she’s made a shift to pop in her latest releases. While you might get a tad jealous at the life she lives — “I go straight to VIP, I never pay for my drinks,” she says — you can’t help but move and imagine yourself in her place.

Do

Pre-order

Earlier this week, the main cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was revealed, for the first time in their on-stage avatars. And if you’re nowhere near the West End, but still want to know what the two-part play by Rowling is all about, pre-order the much-awaited eighth instalment of the series, which follows the life of Harry, Ginny and their kids. As the blurb says, “While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

The book is slated for release around July 31.
