The Hyderabad Metro Rail coach is on display. Have you checked it out yet?
A day after the Hyderabad Metro Rail Rolling Stock (train coach) was open to public, visitors began to trickle in early Friday morning. School and college students, young parents accompanied by their children and software engineers queued up at Necklace Road to get a glimpse of the coach and take photographs.
The visitors got a view of the seating, central air-conditioning, dynamic route map indicators near the doors, 24-inch LCD television inside the coach and other safety features. “It’s high time we get to travel in coaches like these,” says a beaming Narasimhan, who recently returned after a trip to the US.
Techie Sadiq wonders how soon Hyderabadis will learn to use the coaches equipped with automatic doors. “Closer to the launch, I think there should be awareness campaign listing dos and don’ts for the benefit of passengers who aren’t acquainted with the sophisticated system,” he says.
Visitors also get to take a peek into the driver’s cabin. Kiran, a railway employee who came to see the coach with his daughter, feels Hyderabad is at an advantage of getting more sophisticated coaches than Delhi.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail Rolling Stock (train coach) will be on display at Necklace Road throughout the month.
