Who has not shaken a leg to Baby Doll , Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan and High Heels nowadays? From clubs to marriage parties, these and dance tracks make everyone go crazy. The youth has on their lips every song of this duo, while the conservatives have also started to make peace with their kind of music.
Meet Manmeet Singh and Harmeet Singh, better known as Meet Bros, who turned up in the Capital recently to speak about their latest work, Party Animal . The brothers are totally charged up for their new video which brings them to the centre stage as performers. As the duo promises many projects this year, singles and as well as collaborations other than the film songs, the good news for dance loving public is that quite a few peppy beats are coming their way
Explaining the idea behibd Party Animal, Harmeet says, “It will showcase us as a package and break our image just as music directors. We start our Meet Production with this video too. A lot has been initiated already and a lot is expected. We also plan collaborations that are not so prominent in India yet.”
On how they became musical sensation, Manmeet says: “Harmeet and I never learnt music; we only learnt while working on it. We have always been entertainers; even as kids we would do various things to make people feel happy. In fact, we never knew we had music in us as we belong to a business family background. Songs we have composed and the performances we give come as impromptu which is why public can relate so much to them.”
Noting that every generation evolves with time, Manmeet says: “People usually like what youth is enjoying and they get accustomed to it. Also, we take feedback seriously. We make so many songs that we know what kind of music public demands from us.”
Highlighting their struggling days before success came their way, Harmeet says, “People usually follow only two personalities in the industry – actors and singers; nobody cares who is behind those people. We have been working for some time now and before Baby Doll happened, we had given some hit tracks. But people were only bothered about the singers and they acknowledged us after that song. There is a need to announce yourself, otherwise nobody will care who you are. As music directors, we love our work, but I think we need to explore and exhibit our performer side too. Party Animal will help us achieve that. It is a rebirth of Meet Bros as entertainers and performers.”
Mnapeet talks about the ingredients of their music. “We both are very happy-go-lucky guys and that translates into our music. This is our element. However, we have recently made songs like Girl, I Need You and Ijazat . For creating this kind of music we had to go into some other space. We love making melody; there is nothing more beautiful than it. Peppiness is definitely our strength.”
On the inspiration behind Party Animal , Manmeet says: “It is different from every other party songs that have been there. It does not just revolve around clubs and alcohol, there is a story in it and the music is in flow with that. It follows a story line and also teaches everyone how to party hard.”
As for performing to their number, Harmeet adds, “We started off as pop singers and now we want to get back to screen. When Bhushan Kumar (of T-series) notices us, he decided to make something crazy out of our energy and performance and this is how we ended up with this mad concept.”
