Schwarzkopf brings Essensity, its latest hair product range, to India

“Come and touch our models' hair,” announced Robert Seah, ASK director, Asia, Schwarzkopf Professional, in a setting, ambitiously decorated to transport you to where the ingredients for their latest range is sourced from. Amidst creepers, climbers and all things densely green, Essensity — Schwarzkopf professional's latest range of hair colour, care and styling products, was launched recently in India.

Following the internationally-practised LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability) principle, the products are said to contain 90 per cent naturally-derived ingredients and certified organic essence. The products are also believed to be devoid of ammonia, parabens, formaldehyde derivatives and silicones.

For Indian hair

Outlining that Essensity is suited for Indian hair, Robert Seah says: “Indian hair is naturally wavy, and hence appears dry. Also, when it's humid, hair needs additional moisture. The beeswax and oils in the products promise lustre, and tame the frizz.”

For those experimenting with hair colours, he recommends highlights. “Choose a colour seven to 10 per cent closer to that of your hair colour, so you can change it often. Choose hair colour based on your skin tone too. If you are fair skinned, darker hair colours will be better suited and vice versa.”

Said to be ideal for faded, grey and treated hair, their Colour range comes with ingredients such as grape seed oil, natural ectoin and bees wax. The Care range contains acai berry, fire tulip, panthenol, soya protein and aloe vera; and styling products use ashtree bark extracts, bamboo extracts, tapioca and red vine bud, among others.
