Review MoMo Café serves pan Asian, Oriental and Thai cuisine

Its address (opposite Hussainsagar Lake) is swanky enough and its name – MoMo Café' in keeping with the trend. The signature restaurant opened in Courtyard by Marriott is the latest entrant to join the list of hip restaurants in Hyderabad. The one thing that stares you in the face is the element of space, which is rather pleasing in this joint. Spacious and serene with tastefully done decor, the place is for all the frequent business travellers and those who like to eat food in an airy and bright ambience rather than in loud and garish interiors.

MoMo Café is a place where you get only momos. Right? “Wrong,” says restaurant manager Praveen Kumar. “The USP of MoMo Café' is its live momo counter where one gets to eat a choice of momos. For buffet, one can also try Pan-Asian delicacies. Another distinctive feature of the meal is that one gets to eat a set lunch with the choice of Oriental and Thai cuisine and also dig into salads and desserts. It is a signature restaurant and all the restaurants in Courtyard by Marriott across Asia have the same name.” Executive chef Girish Krishnan says the name of the restaurant might be common but the menu is different and has been designed according to the local palette. Like the Momo Café which was launched in Ahmedabad recently has a distinctive flavour. “The dishes as part of the menu have been decided according to the tastes of the people living there,” he says. The place is quite a delightfor Feng Shui lovers. Mirrors on the ceiling (for good luck) and a huge bay glass window offering a good view adds to the settings The colour palette gives an English feel with its black, grey, orange and brown tables and chairs. Listen to the music and browse mails (yes, it is wi-fi enabled) as you dig into a pizza or sipyour favourite cocktail. One cannot miss the art work done in white gold Bizazza tiles behind the buffet counter. One can choose between breakfast buffet for the mornings and Pan Asian buffet for dinners. Also opt for set lunch with the choice of delicious Oriental, and Thai cuisine.
