EVENT Launch of Glenfiddich's Snow Phoenix along with its ‘The Spirit of a Pioneer' programme
Everything was in white. Every element of the lavish arrangements at Taj Palace Hotel in the Capital — curtains, tables, bar, even flowers — was drenched in silver or white in keeping with the launch of Glenfiddich's whisky, Snow Phoenix. Snow Phoenix was unveiled by Peter Gordon, Chairman, William Grants & Sons Distiller.
Welcoming guests, Aparna Batra, Marketing Director, William Grant and Sons India, said, “We are pleased to launch and present this fine whisky to the discerning Indian consumer tonight as an ode to the six pioneering spirits being felicitated this evening.”
Marked with the launch of ‘The Spirit of a Pioneer' programme, the event also witnessed the beginning of the India chapter of Glenfiddich's international campaign, ‘One Day You Will', which will culminate in a summit from October 18 to 20, 2011 at The Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland.
The pioneers felicitated at the function were Sumant Jayakrishnan for space designing, Luke Kenny for entertainment, Ritu Kumar for fashion designing, Subir Malik for music, V. Sunil for advertising and Wing Commander Rahul Monga for aeronautical adventure.
Charles Gordon said, “It's a great pleasure to be back in India.We hope that our Indian association can develop through the artistic business and personal relations between people of India and Scotland and continue to remain healthy and rewarding.”
“It's a great pleasure. It's the first award for me, so I am going to enjoy the evening as much as possible,” said Luke Kenny, the keyboardist from the movie Rock On!! and former VJ of Channel V. He added there is a lot to be accomplished.
Recalling his visit to Scotland during one of his journeys, Wing Commander Rahul Monga said, “I was very near Grant's distillery in Ayrshire on the West Coast of Scotland. It is a beautiful place. It is great pleasure to be here and I thank William Grant & Sons.”
