Who says being stylish costs a bomb? The newly-opened Max store at the Express Avenue mall in Chennai busts that myth.

Who says being stylish costs a bomb? The newly-opened Max store at the Express Avenue mall busts that myth. Spread over an area of 20,000 square feet, Max is all garments, footwear and accessories for every member of the family. To commemorate the launch of Max's third store in the city, models showcased the Max Autumn ‘10 collection.

A team of fifty in-house designers in Dubai have lent their ideas to the collection. The first range of clothes that hit the ramp was sportswear. Making use of colours such as pinks, greys, yellows and classic whites this range is for the fashion-conscious sportsperson.

The range of formal wear had something for both the traditional office-goer and someone who doesn't mind experimenting. Striped shirts with thin ties and bows for the men and formal skirts with pleats and dresses for the women.

The casual range was dominated by viscose tunics, off-shoulder tees and leggings in bright colours and the liberal use of graffiti. Big and bright seemed to be the theme for everything from sunglasses to bags and footwear.

Debuting their Tavisha Collection of evening ethnic wear, the models wore designs in contemporary silhouettes. Cotton, cotton silk, brocade and Chanderi were the major fabrics of this line. Bright colours of the season, found their way into this collection as well, with red, green, gold, yellow, pink and orange taking centrestage. The club range was chic and suave meant for the urban man and woman in the mood to unwind.

Having entered India five years ago, Max has 32 stores across 16 cities. A well-known value fashion brand in West Asia, they have branches in countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Jordan and Yemen. Setting them apart is their pricing, with most of their merchandise costing between Rs. 199 and Rs. 599. Max also has stores in Anna Nagar and Luz.
