Aadi gets analytical on the eve of his release Gaalipatam . Sukumarudu and Pyar Mein Padipoyane did not do well at the BO but he is not unduly perturbed; after all he has seen his father Sai Kumar going through constant ups and downs in his career and has learnt to handle his career. He is gracious enough to accept his mistakes. “The media has always been supportive. The audience is updated, smart and if they see a small logic missing, the film might not run.”

The actor observes that there are a number of good filmmakers who are so passionate about cinema that they don’t think twice about the budget; they are going ahead and releasing their films on their own.

The only thing actors need to do is to believe and pick good scripts. Henceforth he wants to work with new writers and technicians coming with fresh ideas and who think differently. He quips, “People are now accepting new stories. Gaalipatam has no regular introduction songs and fights. After listening to the story, I felt the first half was quite bold for our South Indian sensibilities. Post break, the director targets society at large. For a moment I felt apprehensive, but the climax is something I really liked, it will be discussed. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.”

Gaalipatam is a kite that moves in the direction of the wind despite a strong thread that controls it. Aadi explains, “All the characters in the film have that confusion about which way to go. It deals with the generation gap. It’s a new age love story. There are some scenes in the film that make you feel that you’ve been through this before or heard about it from someone. It is not preachy as such but the small satires poke you.Naveen Gandhi is a debutant director but he has worked with Rajamouli and V.V. Vinayak and has gained rich experience. I have known him for three years.”

Finally he signs off heaping praise on Sampat Nandi, the director turned producer, “The thing that impressed me about Sampat most was his commitment and his meticulous planning. The personal interest he takes in costumes, background to anything; that is enough to make an artiste feel secure and comfortable, forget about the result of the film. You will see a new Aadi in Gaalipatam .”
