While a whole gamut of issues surrounds the life of a girl child in India, the most visible one is her plight of holding her younger sibling and running between vehicles at traffic signals begging for alms.
Despite government schemes like the Ladli benefitting many girls in the Capital today, there are several who are still outside the purview of such facilities and are bearing the burden of a lost childhood.
October 11 is marked as International Day of the Girl Child.
