Indian weddings are well-known for their grandeur, and that means a lot of planning and attention to detail. It can get difficult sometimes. No wonder, apps and websites that help out with all things wedding-related are becoming a popular choice among brides around the world. They provide style solutions, list out service providers and help brides manage the wedding frenzy. Here are a few that can come in handy:

TBG online wedding store

Tamil Brides Guide (TBG) that started in 2014 has a team of about 100 artists, who specialise in various aspects like make-up, outfits and jewellery. NRI brides often fly in just a week before their weddings and get TBG to organise everything for them. Their services are available at even remote towns.

As of now TBG’s services can be availed in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Kaviya Raj, the founder of TBG, says that this is like an economical version of Band Baajaa Bride (a television show on getting the grooms and bride’s outfits and makeup right) . Brides can choose artists according to their budget. TBG also provides the option of renting out accessories.

Wed Me Good

When Mehak Sagar got married, she found it really hectic to organise everything on her own, without any expert help. And then in 2014 she launched Wed Me Good, along with her husband Anand Shahani. She believes that weddings are supposed to be flawless, and that the bride should be able to enjoy every moment of this special event.

Though they don’t have their own team of artists, this online portal has an extensive collection of images that are up-to-date, and they also provide contacts of vendors from whom the bride can purchase. Mehak says, “Our services are available at every stage, right from inspirations for lehengas that begins almost a year in advance, to the selection of vendors and also the services that are required on the day of the wedding.”

The brides also have an option of adding their fiancé or their loved ones to their profile, just in case they need help deciding on the products and services chosen. Since all of it gets done online, the bride does not even have to step outside.

Big Indian Wedding

The Big Indian Wedding’s services do not end with just bridal services. Along with guidance for brides, they focus on other aspects like venues, DJs, dancers and, of course, the groom. Started by Ashish Abrol in 2010, they have categories to help narrow down the search based on prices, areas, ratings among others.

They have as many as 41,000 different service providers whom the wedding party can contact. An interesting aspect of this initiative is that they have an E-magazine section, which consists of nearly 400 articles written by their expert teams. These are not only an interesting read, but also have enough information for the couples getting married. Ashish aims to increase the number of vendors to a lakh by the end of this year, and is also confident of extending their services to seven more cities in the country.
