Honey Rose is on a roll. The actor who began her innings in Mollywood with Vinayan’s Boyy Friennd , struck gold with V.K. Prakash’s Trivandrum Lodge . Her role as Dhwani, a divorcee who wants to have a good time, propelled her into the limelight. Although she has acted in a string of movies post Trivandrum Lodge , Aami, a segment in Amal Neerad’s 5 Sundarikal being the latest, most of the characters and movies failed to make a mark.
This could be a reason why the actor is keeping her fingers crossed for director Marthandan’s debut movie, Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus . Set against the backdrop of the theatre, Daivathinte… Swantham Cleetus has Mammootty playing Cleetus, a theatre artiste; Honey plays Lakshmi, Cleetus’ wife.
“A naadan woman, she is the quintessential girl-next-door; someone every Malayali can relate to.
Lakshmi is a lot like me. I too am a small town girl. Lakshmi is bold and faces life heads on. She runs a small tailoring unit to support her son and herself.”
The actor is thrilled that the film has been shot at her home town – Thodupuzha. “The camera has captured the beauty of my hometown and I am glad that I have been given a substantial role in the movie.”
Acting with Mammootty, she says, has always been a dream “as I grew up watching actors like Mammootty and Mohanlal on screen.” Mammootty, she says, did not have any airs and was friendly.
Honey is currently acting in Arun Kumar’s 1 by Two . It stars Fahadh Faasil, Murali Gopy, Shyamaprasad and Isha Talwar. Honey acts as a doctor.
