“No one tires of a love story. That's why my debut film ‘Mallukattu' is a love story, but the presentation will be different,” said director T. Muruganantham, who has earlier worked as director Vikraman's assistant. “Mallukattu” is not just Muruganantham's directorial debut; he has also written the story, screenplay and the dialogue. It's a rural tale shot in Theni and Kambam. Produced by The Film Company, Varun and Soundarya play the lead, while the music is scored by Tajnoor.
Vivek as villain
Vivek has 450 films to his credit. Though comedy is his forte, he has decided to show audiences that he can pull off a villain's role too. “All this while, I have showcased my skills as a comedian in Tamil and Malayalam films. For the first time, I play a villain, a psycho-killer, in an untitled film directed by Arutchezian, in which Mithun is the hero. It's a new experience not only for me, but also for the viewers,” said Vivek.
Romance by the sea
G. S. Studios has almost finished its maiden venture “Sempattai”, most of which has been filmed in and around Nagercoil, with some important scenes shot in Thiruvananthapuram. The climax is to be shot in Chennai. The film has all the ingredients to make it a box-office hit, says director I. Ganesh. “It is a love story with a difference. M. A. Dhileepan plays the lead, while new face Gowri Nambiar plays his love interest. Srijith, Dhanushri Seran Raj, Thamarai Sendur Pandi, George Rajan, Kandasamy, Vettri and Manimaran comprise the supporting cast. There are seven songs; each takes the story to the next level. They are beautifully set to tune by new music director Sreeraghav.” The director has worked as an associate with popular directors such as Fasil, Siddiq and Vinayan.
