Cinematographer Om Prakash, who shot to fame with movies such as Kalavani, Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Arrambam, was initially happy and later nervous when he was roped in by famed lensman-turned-director K.V. Anand for Anegan, featuring Dhanush in the lead. “I was happy because he was so impressed with Vaagai Sooda Vaa that he spoke in detail about my work and decided to work with me. Nervous because I was working with a national-award-winning cinematographer. The first schedule was a litmus test for me,” he says over the phone. The crew will be moving to Malaysia for shooting a song sequence, he says. Known for hand-held compositions and experiments with colours, Om Prakash says that he has kept it simple in Anegan. “I think K.V. is happy,” he says.
Balancing act Bharath Reddy, seen in the recently released Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal , juggles two extremely difficult careers — as a full-time cardiologist at Apollo hospitals, Hyderabad, and as a part-time ‘busy’ actor. He is currently doing three films in Telugu, one in Tamil and one in Kannada. And if everything goes well, he will probably be seen in Mani Ratnam’s bilingual starring Mahesh Babu.
How does he do it? “This wouldn’t have been possible but for the senior doctors I work with,” he says. “So far I have been able to do it. I am getting offers in Tamil (he is doing R. Kannan’s Oru Oorla Rendu Raja ) after IKK . Let’s see.”
