At a recent media meet, when Juhi Chawla was asked about the variety of roles in her repertoire, she was all smiles. She particularly remembered her role in Bhoothnath where she played a mom who despises cooking. “Oh! I was totally shocked that I’d have to play such a mom. I mean, which mother would do that? It took some amount of coaxing to play that role,” she laughed. Juhi will be seen as a scheming politician in Soumik Sen’s Gulaab Gang .
The surprise element
U.K.-based filmmaker Ahmed Roy has managed to get funding for his short film Severing Ties that stars Kalki Koechlin and Gulshan Devaiah. The film deals with jealousy between a couple that leads to disastrous consequences. We hear that the surprise package in the short is Monica Dogra who plays the raison d’etre for the rift. Monica’s having a great year with another film coming up with Naseeruddin Shah and son Vivaan.
