A sport of any kind is all about fitness, stamina and the right attitude on court as well as off it. Left-handed badminton champion Jwala Gutta believes in the same.
Eating right is the key to stay at the top of one’s game and Jwala follows this rule to the hilt.
Having started playing badminton at the age of nine, she had to give up on some things in life. “In order to achieve some thing, one has to give up a few things,” says the sportswoman, who is now all set to enter films.
She will be performing an item number in an upcoming Telugu film. The player who won a bronze medal in women’s doubles at the Badminton World Championship, reveals she undergoes three to four hours of training on a regular basis.
“But practice is not enough. It needs to be combined with an appropriate diet. I was not diet-conscious earlier. But I now follow a healthy diet routine — balanced meal consisting of eggs, chicken and meat.” She insists aspiring players should pursue a fitness technique that suits them to enhance stamina and reach their goal.
