The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, India and Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bangalore have co-produced ‘For Pina…', a site-specific promenade performance presented along with a film installation and live music to commemorate an iconic dancer of our times — Pina Bausch. Inspired by Pina's breathtaking work and life, this piece reflects contemporary India and its dancers who wish to offer their homage to this great choreographer.

The piece is set to animate the architectural features of performance venues across numerous Indian metros in January and February 2010. ‘For Pina…' will be situated in a specially designed sonic environment with cutting-edge music. The piece offers fresh vantage points and unusual frames to experience Attakkalari's unique movement vocabulary, which draws influences from Indian physical and performance traditions as well as pedestrian movements.

‘For Pina…' will be performed on January 28 at Spaces, Elliots Beach Road at 7 p.m. For details email attakkalari@gmail.com or visit www.attakkalari.org
