The third season of the 7UpDanceUp, one of the biggest dance contests in South India, was a huge success, attracting 10,000 participants from 2,800 teams across 49 cities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. The finale saw some power-packed performances. Actors STR, Puneeth Rajkumar and Andrea who judged the event declared Fictitious Group from Belgaum, Karnataka, the winners. Fictitious Group got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the finals of Pepsi IPL, 2014 in Bangalore, besides a cash prize of Rs.11 lakh and a chance to feature on the 7Up label. The first runner-up was Loyola Dream Team from Chennai, while the second runner-up was Diablos dance crew from Madurai.

Ruchira Jaitly, Senior Director Marketing — Social Beverages, PepsiCo India, said, ““7UP DanceUP has been a phenomenal success over the years, and we came back this year on a grander scale. The response was overwhelming; watching hundreds of dancers, each a powerhouse of talent and energy. Each team put their best foot forward and choosing the winner was tough. Nothing can be more rewarding for a dancer than to be able to perform on a huge platform before a huge crowd.”

Actor Puneeth Rajkumar remarked, “This season showcased some of the best performances I’ve seen till date. The entire journey of short-listing dancers and seeing them make it through the different levels was fabulous.”

STR, brand ambassador for 7Up said, “The contest is getting better each year with more opportunities opening up for the winners and big prize money. Every dancer is passionate and high on energy; there’s so much that I learnt from them.”
