It looked like the whole city was at the Fun Republic Mall to listen to their favourite singers of the reality show Zee Thamizh Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2012 .

The top seven contestants of the show, Priyaa, Aravind, Krishna Kumar, Vijayalakshmi, Bhagavathar Srihari , Mohan Srinivas and Sunitha charmed the audience as they sang some popular Tamil numbers.

Priyaa began with ‘Who’s the hero’, from the film Manmadhan Ambu . Aravind came on stage and won the hearts of Surya fans by singing ‘Vizhi Moodi’ from Ayan .

Bhagavathar Srihari made it clear that even though his name had a ‘Bhagavathar’, he could also sing pop numbers. “Nanum Kuthu Paatu Paduvaen”, he declared before he began with the Kamal Haasan rage ‘Ilamai Idho Idho’.

Sunitha’s sweet-as-honey voice filled up the venue as she sang ‘Enge Enathu Kavithai’ from the film Kandukondain Kandukondain . Her melody drew the loudest applause and wolf whistles.

The audience had another surprise awaiting them. Harish Raghavendra, the popular playback singer was in town too. The crowd cheered loudly as he sang ‘Chennai Senthamizh’.

Vijayalakshmi sang ‘Thoothu Varuma’, in her deep and mesmerising voice.

There was dancing too as Aravind sang the Aadukalam hit ‘Otha Sollala’ and demonstrated the signature steps of Dhanush. Two more members from the audience joined him and the group kept the audience dancing for the next few minutes.

Then, Coimbatore’s own Mohan Srinivas sang ‘Po Po Po…Nee Enga Vena Po’.

Priya and Srihari sang the duet ‘Vaada Maappilley”, as they held hands and danced.

The singers shared good chemistry on stage, teasing each other as they performed.

When Krishna Kumar sang the Rahman hit ‘Sakiye’ from Alaipayuthey the audience roared in delight.

The duet by Mohan Srininvas and Srihari, was funny as they pretended to be the distraught lovers, in the song ‘Vena Macha’. Krishna Kumar and Vijayalakshmi waltzed on the stage as they sang ‘Malargale’. Mohan Srinivas also sang the Paiyya hit, ‘Adada Mazhada’. The seven singers came together finally in the last number, ‘Where is the party tonight’.

The show will be aired on Zee Tamizh on Saturday and Sunday on December 15 and December 16 at 8 p.m.
