Sheetal Maulik who enacts the role of Prakriti, the main character of the serial, describes her experience as “thrilling”. “I had played leads in many comedy television shows. In ‘Aye Dil-e-Nadan’ the character I played depicts someone who is weak by nature. Prakriti’s role is not stereotyped. In fact, she is independent, strong and ardent believer of her principles and convictions –– a role I always wanted to enact. So I had no second thoughts while saying yes to it.”

On getting the opportunity to play the role close to her heart, Sheetal has prepared herself mentally and physically. “I am not only required to look strong but also emote the steel in the character and hence I do jogging and exercise besides meditation. The viewers should be convinced by the enactment.” Though trained in karate she undertook lessons in kick boxing and also learned to ride motorcycle for the serial. “The role has made me stronger as a person and helped me to grow from inside.”

She describes the atmosphere while shooting the serial as “healthy and homely” and her co-actors as “cooperative”. “The director (Sanjeev Chadha) allows us complete freedom to enact the scenes. He provides valuable inputs and discusses the scenes extensively. In fact the presence of both the producers on the set is very helpful and motivating,” the actor comments.
