Yet another show talking about women and hopefully engaging with women. That sums up Zee TV’s new show Hello Pratibha which takes on its competitors on their own terms. Hello Pratibha too talks of the plight of women, in particular highlighting the fact that women might be the backbone of our family and society but they have inadequate support system and virtually nobody to turn to at the time of crisis.

Hello Pratibha is the story of a 36-year-old mother of two grown-up children whose sole priority is her family. She is completely devoted to her family and in-laws. Though no one has forced her to do so much yet she believes that it is her responsibility and her whole world and life revolves around it. All this has led to her losing her identify. After so many years she is now trying to re-discover it and regain her lost confidence.

The character of Pratibha is essayed by Dance India Dance Season 2 finalist Binny Sharma who has earlier played the character of Gauri in her debut show Sanjog She Bani Sangini . Tells Binny , “I started off my career as a dancer and later shifted to acting. This is my third show. It has been a lovely phase of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying every moment of it.” About her character she says, “The story is much different. In fact when I read the script I was surprised. This character is a mature one compared to my age requiring a lot of patience, very much lacking in confidence in everything she does, it may be the body language, it may be the tone. I do not get many dialogues to deliver. I only have to give expressions through my eyes. On the whole I can say that it is a challenging role but I am enjoying every moment of it. I get to learn a lot of new things everyday.”

On the occasion, Zee TV programming head, Namit Sharma said, “It is the story of every middle-aged Indian housewife. Our protagonist represents every woman who post-marriage, prioritizes the needs of her family over her own and all she asks for is to be acknowledged for the person she is. But, in caring for her loved ones round-the-clock she has lost touch with her own identity. She has forgotten who she once was, what her true interests and talents were before marriage!” About the show airing every Monday to Saturday instead of the usual Monday-Friday format, he adds, “Being a new show, the objective was to give it more exposure and give it ample room to grow on the audience.”

( Hello Pratibha is on the air from January 27 from Monday to Saturday at 7.30 p.m. on Zee TV).
