One constant complaint about Hindi television serials is that they are always shot indoors. Neither the backdrop nor the walls nor the furniture seem to belong to a house well lived in.
Further, most characters dress up in a way nobody is likely to do at home. In some cases the viewers are willing to overlook these anomalies because of a powerful story line or fast paced narration. They are not so generous to other serials like for instance Neeli Chhatri Waale on Zee TV which has now been running close to six months. The staleness which has crept into the serial has led to lower television rating points (TRPs).
With a view to remedy the problem, producer Ashwini Dhir took the cast and crew of the serial to Rishikesh recently to can a few episodes in fresh surroundings.
Himanshu Soni ,who plays the character of Shivaye said: “The TRPs of our show were low so the production team decided to take the shooting outdoor to make it more interesting. I am personally very excited and would like to see the Shiva temple here in Rishikesh.”
Veteran actor Yashpal Sharma who is essaying the character of Bhagwan Das said, “We are now shooting in the hills around the picturesque Rishikesh, and on the banks of the Ganga. We will also be doing a host of adventure activities like river rafting and bungee jumping. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. I hope the viewers will love the special track.”
(Watch the Rishikesh special episodes of Neeli Chhatri Waale on Zee TV every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.)
