Yuvraaj Malhotra in Fear Files

History is replete with instances of young men and women coming to Mumbai with dreams of being the next big star. In most cases it does not work out for the youngsters concerned. Some of them go back home or try an alternate career in cinema itself. Subhash Ghai too started as an actor but got fame as a director. There is however another category of actors who struggle in the film world for a while before landing a role in a film usually directed by another newcomer. These films are at times left midway and sometimes completed but find no takers. They remain unreleased and their actors continue to struggle. Yuvraaj Malhotra is one such person.

Yuvraajcame into the industry to be a star like the Khans. He acted in two films, but they were never released. He has just completed his third film. But doesn’t want to talk about it till it is released. Yuvraaj, however, has managed to be in the public eye by choosing to act in serials. Having starred in shows like Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and Sapnon Ke Bhanwar Mein, he is now coming on Zee TV's horror show Fear Files – Har Mod Pe Dar . He will be seen playing the male lead in a thrilling episode Sindoor made by BBC productions. It talks about a woman Maneka, who gets possessed. Although, she tries hard to settle into her regular life with her doting husband, Raaj ( Yuvraaj Malhotra) she fails to get rid of the spirit that has controlled her body.

Yuvraaj says, “This story is based on reality. I never thought of working in a horror show on television, I only wanted to do a horror film but when the story was narrated to me, I was really impressed as I have earlier heard such a story in real life and I am sure that Sindoor is going to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.”

Yuvraaj is not giving up on his Bollywood dreams. He claims he is in talks for a Hindi and one Punjabi film.

Watch Sindoor this Saturday and Sunday on Zee TV at 10.30 pm.
