Steering away from the beaten track of music and dance reality shows on is the new show on Channel [V], My Big Decision produced by BBC Worldwide Productions India.

Hosted by Sandhya Mridul, My Big Decision is about important life changing decisions which youth today crave to make.

In an interview, Sandhya says, “In a nutshell, the show traces the lives of 14 young contestants who want to make that 'big' decision in life. The contestants during the course of the episode are introduced to a series of experts and opinion makers who influence their decisions either in a positive or negative way. At the end of the show, the decisions of the contestants are revealed.”

According to the actress, “Today's youth are growing up faster than their times and are often unaware of the practicalities of their dreams. And through this program we hope to help them make informed decisions.”

The life changing decisions made on the show range from issues related to a sex change operation and early marriage to leaving a lucrative job to make a foray into filmdom.

As the host of the show she has imbibed a lot. “It has been a learning process for me. The content and format of the show which is nothing but honest conversation and that has really impressed me from the very beginning.”

The biggest challenge Sandhya faced on the show was to not voice her opinion. “I'm so opinionated and it wasn't the easiest thing to listen and not talk for a change and that's another reason why I was open to doing such a show,” she adds.
