Chennai-based photographer Karthik Srinivasan’s portrait of screen siren Namitha has been chosen to be featured in a Japanese television show titled “Yari-sugi ko-ji Urban Legends Special” to be broadcast by Tokyo Television today.

According to a communication from the show’s producer, Japan Footage Inc., to Karthik, “The portrait has been selected to showcase and demonstrate what is considered ‘Indian beauty'."

Karthik, who is well-known in Chennai’s fashion circuit, says, “Namitha is one of the most-searched names in Google. When the people behind the show were searching the Net for Indian beauties, they were impressed with some of my shots of the actor. Apparently, the show is about the concept of beauty in different countries. Seeing my name on the pictures, they looked up my website and sent me a formal letter seeking to use the portrait.”
