Post “Bigg Boss”, Pravesh Rana awaits films

The Indian television reality shows have created a lot of opportunities for new talent. Shows like Roadies, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Bigg Boss have given youngsters a platform to perform and garner attention. Though Pravesh Rana was Mr. India 2008, he was considered more a flash in the pan. It was Bigg Boss 3,where he ended up the runner-up, that made him a household name. We didn't know his mimicry skills, great sense of humour, aggression or his family background before he reached the final.

Says Pravesh, “My portrayal as a common man in the show was apt despite the title. I call myself a commoner with achievements, not a celebrity who participated in the show.” The 25-year-old has an international portfolio of more than 600 events as professional emcee, anchor and model.

This Ramjas College product now feels that post Bigg Boss, he has become a celebrity of sorts. Hence, image building is now a conscious affair. “But,” he quips, “I will not work in daily soaps, for it amounts to compromising on creativity, nor do I plan to pursue mimicry as a career. Instead, I want to see myself on the silver screen.”
