Present day professional and personal challenges have affected men and women alike, making them seek wellness treatments and packages to rejuvenate themselves. As details about such wellness centres are dispersed over several sites, searching them is cumbersome and the information quantum makes decision making difficult. The same holds true for those seeking to avail alternative methods of treatment for their ailments like back pain, headache, muscle pain, insomnia. Helping out of this dilemma, is madaboutwellness.com a portal, providing exhaustive and relevant information on spas and treatment centres at the click of a button.

Co-founded by Khushboo Jain, the site informs and educates that holistic approach to wellness goes beyond spa pampering. “It lists and showcases various possible such service centres with their most accurate details and treatment menu making people aware about various healing traditions and wellness treatments and therapies available across the country,” explains Jain.

Thus for Shailendra, a Bangalore-based IT professional in Delhi for a business meeting, the portal helped in locating a spa at the airport itself saving him time, while for Divya Dikshit unable to decide on which bridal package to choose, the site helped through its recommendations and ratings.

The portal’s search engine has been designed to locate all possible treatments and therapies based on different parameters like location, city, budget, requirements, benefits, available deals, prices and duration. Clicking on a particular centre yields the property details, its brief USP, pictures, benefits of each treatment and signature treatment. The portal’s blogs and glossary facilitate in better understanding of information. “ Details have been collected by my team or me personally and not outsourced from an agency. Auditing is a continuous process. We keep visiting to update information. Thus the content on the portal is absolutely authentic,” Jain assures. Those wishing to clarify can call up the service centre or the portal to seek help and advice from its team.

Having extensively covered lifestyle and wellness as a journalist and penned a book on spas, Jain has visited more than 250 properties.

Sharing her experience of one such visit, Jain says: “Having covered me with clay the staff instead of attending me within the specified half an hour, came after a delay of 15 minutes despite my calling for help. To make matters worse, the person who came to assist me was a stranger making me feel very uncomfortable. The manager neither offered the mandatory green tea nor elicited my response about the treatment. I gave them low ratings because being in the hospitality sector, service is of prime importance.”

Jain uses several parameters to grade a centre. These include qualification and experience of therapists and doctors and the support staff like managers and assistants; checking of facilities like the number of treatment rooms available, the products used are in-house or branded, quality of bathrooms and hygiene observed.

“For example, a spa must observe certain rituals like washing of feet, serving green tea, dry fruits or fresh fruits, getting feedback and rendering proper attention to the needs of the customer,” says Jain.

Believing in continuous assessment process, the team visits take place every six months which could be scheduled or unscheduled.

The portal has also provided customers an opportunity to submit their reviews. These are continuously monitored and taken into account when re-auditing is done.

Highlighting the importance of this public platform, Jain cites how a customer who was unable to get refund or extension on his deal received immediate redressal, the moment his review appeared on the portal.

Generating revenue through commission on bookings, premium listing and advertising, the portal does not have listing charges at present. “My objective is to showcase India as a wellness destination on the global map and making people aware of the importance of mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well being,” says Jain.
