A vintage car is a symbol of heritage and longevity. So is The Hindu . Therefore, it's only apt that the premier media house organises a rally of vintage and classic cars from Chennai to Puducherry, in collaboration with the Madras Heritage Motoring Club.
Forty cars, representing a potpourri of marques and models from 1938 to 1975, will assemble at the VGP Universal Kingdom on East Coast Road on January 8.
Readers of can take a look at these rare cars, thanks to free shuttle services from two spots — Koyambedu Bus Stand and Pondy Bazaar (opposite Nagesh Theatre), at 7 a.m. These services will be offered to 75 people at each location on a first-come-first-serve basis. To use the services, call 90030-16954 (Koyambedu) and 98415-60343 (Pondy Bazaar).
After this, the old beauties will set off for Puducherry at 9 a.m. And, the cars will be displayed on Beach Road, Puducherry, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The cars will start for Chennai on January 9. There will be fun on the way, and that includes a halt at the Radisson Resort Temple Bay, Mamallapuram.
