In pursuit of a leseer offence by Sujata Parashar

After In Pursuit of Infidelity and In Pursuit of Ecstasy, Sujata Parashar comes up with a story about complex relationships.

The story revolves around two young couples whose marriages fail and how they find love in unexpected ways. It’s not a new one, but it’s told in a different way thus making it a refreshing read. The protagonists are Sangeet and Avinash who meet by chance at a conference.

Series of misfortune

Sangeet’s marriage fails when her husband confesses that he is in love with someone else and walks out. She joins the same company that Avinash is working for. Avinash has just moved to India from London, much to the dismay of his wife.

Most women will be able to relate to Sangeet since issues like love, stress, betrayal, rejection, career growth and casual sex are relevant to our lives and relationships today.

The book talks about the various dilemmas we face in our lives and also tries to clarify that marriage is not a dead-end. One can find love after it.

The major drawback is that it tries to convey too much for a novel that is supposed to be a breezy read. Sperm donation, feminism, being friends with your ex-wife, a dying husband …

Bottom-line

A breezy read if you like books that talk about the intricacies of relationships.
