The reverberations from SSN College of Engineering's Instincts Version 5.0 has not died down because of its tremendous success.
It gets bigger and better every year with this edition witnessing an enthusiastic crowd of 18, 000 students.
Rocking start
Instincts kick-started with the “Goa” team making an appearance for the inauguration. The response to Venkat Prabhu, Vaibhav and Premji was overwhelming. The first day had events like Light Music, JAM and many more. The musical event was inaugurated by the maestro, M.S. Vishwanathan. The day ended with DJ Craig's rocking collection which had the entire bunch on their feet, dancing all night.
The second day started with a variety of events followed by the light music finals. It was judged by playback singer Ajeesh. The dance performances by the Chennai Sangamam team and the riveting bike stunt show left onlookers awestruck. The salsa dance workshop and the VJ quotient workshop by VJ Paloma were huge crowd-pullers.
The highlight was the concert by the talented combo of Benny Dayal and Stephen Devassy. The instrumental numbers by Devassy were superb, topped off by the famous songs sung by Benny, making everyone sing along.
The third and final day kicked off with the Tamil debates “Modhi paaru” and “Kaviarangam”. The debates were both heated and hilarious, keeping the audience in splits. The judges were comedian Vivek and the “Pattimandram” Raja.
Vivek entertained with his humorous yet meaningful messages. Another notable event of this day was the photography and short film-making, judged by the renowned film maker, Balu Mahendra and the owner of Abirami Mega Mall, Abirami Ramanathan.
Colourful finish
The final event of the day and of Instincts Version 5.0 was the ever-popular choreo night. Pitting the best dance teams from around the State against one another, the event saw the stage set ablaze with excellent performances and superb talent.
The judges for this show were TV artist Michael and choreographer Guna. The sensational cultural event finally drew to an end with a colourful display of fireworks.
