I just got back my lost mobile phone. It was then that I realised how much attached I was to it. But, the separation has done me some good… Constant texting with my fingers on the keypad and with eyes off the screen, has reduced considerably.

I noticed how some people even lost track of time as they kept texting all the time, wherever they are. While waiting in bus stops, travelling or whatever they are doing, their fingers never know rest.

There was a time when people used to look outside windows and draw interest in what was happening around. But after the advent of mobile phones, people have no time to spare a glance at who is sitting next to them. Too much dependence on mobile phones may lead to over-exposure to Electro-magnetic radiation (EMR) that can cause neurological problems. But, people never part with their mobile phones.

Late night texting and too-long calls still continue, no matter how much effort is taken to create awareness of its hazardous effects. Maybe, we should take time to relax and enjoy life by giving a break to this nextgen gadget!
