Second Coming

Second Coming

After watching the song, do you think you could have filmed Kolaveri differently? Or have you always believed you have it in you to change the minds of stubborn people? If the answer to both these questions is in the affirmative, keep the smile on, as you have a task on hand.

Second Coming, an upcoming band in the city, is credited with conceptualising this idea. What started off as a bunch of experienced musicians jamming for fun has translated into no less than 40 concerts across five states in just 16 months. With five of their songs being aired on radio from Chennai Live in Chennai to Radio Mango in Cochin, a much awaited album in the pipeline and offers to perform at various venues across the country ,Second Coming has become one of India’s most sought after bands. With their unmatched enthusiasm to keep good music alive in the city they have also sought to keep up the civic sense and duties as citizens alive in Chennai.

Their recent composition Horn Not Ok Please — a silly song with a great message — describes well the existing honking menace that has increased the noise pollution in our city. The Chennai Traffic Police has an ongoing campaign against honking and since it had not evoked much response the band has decided to run a contest to encourage youngsters. What the campaign aims to do is let the video go viral and motivate youngsters do their bit in spreading awareness.

The event which will be held over a period of one-and-a-half months will see many youngsters actively take part to give their bit to society. Karuna Sagar, Additional Commissioner of Police for Traffic, has also agreed to join hands to make this campaign a grand success.

Requirement:

Each participant is required to send any of their work (any video shot earlier running to about two-three minutes) as a YouTube link to help the team shortlist seven finalists. Each finalist will be then given the track of Horn Not Ok Please for which they will have to shoot a video (three minutes in length). The video will be judged on the basis of concept, aptness, editing, SFX, music, message and recall value. Three of the finalists will get a chance to showcase their video at Forum Mall and the winning entry will be uploaded on YouTube.

Put on your thinking caps and let the creativity flow!
