Movie: Boss Engira Baskaran
Cast: Arya, Nayanthara
“Boss Engira Basakran” is a romantic comedy directed by M. Rajesh of “Siva Manasula Sakthi” fame. In this movie, Rajesh portrays the general things that take place between the lovers in a humorous, yet realistic, way.
For love
Baskaran (Arya), known as Boss among his friends, is a fun loving and a romantic guy who isn't a bright student. Nallathambi (Santhanam) a barber, accompanies Boss everywhere and adds to the comedy element in the movie. When Boss comes to write his arrears exams, he meets Chandrika (Nayanthara) who is an invigilator. It's love at first sight for him.
Boss's brother is engaged to Chandrika's sister, thus giving them scope to bond. Chandrika rejects his proposal stating that he is not yet settled. So, he plans to start a tutorial centre. And how he goes about doing it and wins Chandrika's hand in marriage forms the rest of the plot.
Behind the scenes
Arya has performed well as usual and is good to see him back as an urban youth, after his films “Naan Kadavul” and “Madarasapattinam”. Nayanthara who shares a good on screen chemistry with Arya has performed well in the comedy scenes.
Santhanam is his usual funny self. With his unique dialogue delivery he has succeeded in creating his own brand of comedy. Innovative cinematography and music add to the movie's strength.
Bottomline: Rajesh has delivered a beautiful romantic comedy that is a must-watch as it is sure to keep you laughing till your stomach hurts.
