My skin needed some rejuvenation after the scorching heat of the sun. It was then that I came to know about the summer special services at the Green Trends Hair and Style Salon. These include Litchi O'kool facial priced at Rs. 750, Mint O'kool manicure and pedicure priced at Rs.250 and Rs. 400 respectively.

Cool cleansers

The facial had litchi as the base ingredient. Litchi, an anti-oxidant, helps smoothen the skin, remove dirt, brighten and enhance complexion. The procedure consisted of cleansing the face and neck with a soap-free cleanser, followed by a litchi scrub and a cooling gel. Steaming, which will help open the pores on the face, comes next. There is a quick check for blackheads and then a long massage that might put you to sleep. You then wake to the fruity smell of litchi and find yourself being covered in face pack that smells onderful. In about 20 minutes, the pack is removed and sunscreen is applied. You feel fresh and the skin is visibly smoother and brighter!

Mint-effect

It was time to pamper the hands and feet. The Mint O'kool manicure and pedicure has spearmint as the base ingredient. Mint helps cool the skin, removes tan and has antiseptic and antifungal properties. This procedure also removes blemishes and prevents dryness.

First, hands and feet are soaked in hot water with hydrogen peroxide. This makes the process of dirt removal easy. They are then cleaned with a soap-free cleanser and the nails are cut and filed. Soon after, a scrub is applied and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. This is followed with a mint mask for about 20 minutes. After removing the mask, the nails are given the hue of your choice. Finally, cocoa butter is lathered upon request.

The mint leaves behind a lingering coolness and a pleasant smell with your feet and fingers visibly sparkling.

The only complaint one has after a visit to Green Trends is the almost certain wait before you are pampered. But it is worth it in the end.
